A beautiful beaded dress, early 1920s.  The motif around the midsection is of cherry blossoms. One of the frocks to be displayed in the show.

Vintage 1920’s Toaster

What is wrong with me? I’ve been inspired to write a Downton Abbey drabble for a toaster. (Goodness, that’s a beautiful toaster, though.)
=====
“It’s ridiculous to have a toaster on the breakfast table when one has servants to make toast in the kitchen,” Mary said, eyeing the toaster from beneath an arched brow.
 Richard carefully removed a slice of toast from between the the ornate grilles of the contraption and scraped his butter knife across it. “You might have noticed the kitchen is quite a ways from the breakfast room. It’s ridiculous to have one’s toast grow cold because one is impractical.” He took a bite, crumbs raining down on his plate, smirking as he chewed. “However, if you would prefer…Barnes?”
 “Yes, Sir Richard?” said the butler, waiting by the sidebar.
 “Would you do a piece of toast for Lady Mary, please?”
 She rolled her eyes. “That won’t be necessary, Barnes,” she said, and popped a slice of bread into the toaster herself.

It’s a beautiful toaster!  I’m inspired!
